Expect Victory! The Power of Expectation

When we expect God to keep His word in all ways, we are revealing our trust in Him. Faith is trust in action. We have faith, we trust, and we live accordingly. But do we live with expectation?

As believers in and followers of Jesus Christ, we should expect God to be God!

I want to challenge you to do something today: expect God to move. Expect God to be God. And expect victory.

There is power in expectation. I believe a genuine expectation brings about a mighty manifestation. As believers, our expectation is not wishful thinking or pretending our circumstances are better than they are. Our expectation is rooted in Jesus Christ - the One who conquered death, hell, and the grave. We have the victory. So we ought to live like people who believe the Word of God will do what it says it will do.

Romans 15:13 says, “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him.” Paul connects hope, joy, and peace to one essential thing: trusting God. And when we trust Him, the Holy Spirit causes us to overflow with hope.

That means expectation is really trust looking forward. Trust says, “God, I believe You.” Expectation says, “Because I believe You, I am looking forward to what You are going to do.”

Maybe there is something in your life that hasn't changed yet. Maybe you've been praying for a son or daughter, believing for a grandchild, waiting for a door to open, asking God for healing, carrying a dream, or believing that a generational cycle can finally be broken. You may have been praying and speaking faith without seeing the fruit of change in front of you.

Keep believing. Keep praying. Keep expecting. And keep walking in the victory God has already won and given!

The root of expectation is desire.

The focus of expectation is people.

The time for expectation is now. The covering of expectation is God.

The means of expectation is prayer.

The emotion is joy.

The mindset is peace.

The multiplication is overflow.

And the fuel that makes it all possible is the Holy Spirit.

Oh, my dear friend and partner! What do you expect? What are you expecting right now?

Notice where all of this leads. Overflow!

But God doesn't fill you merely so you can be full. He fills you so you can overflow. When your expectation is centered upon God and your focus turns toward people, your life becomes bigger than you. God fills you with hope so you can carry hope to somebody else. He gives you peace so you can bring peace into somebody else's chaos. He gives you victory so your testimony can help somebody else believe that victory is possible for them too.

Are you expecting God to be God? Are you expecting His overflow of the Holy Spirit?

I want you to begin preparing your heart right now. In just a couple of weeks, we will gather around one powerful word: VICTORY!

The 2026 New Wine Gathering is just days away! This year’s theme is VICTORY!

But don't wait until you arrive on Sunday, September 13 to begin expecting it. Don’t tell yourself you have to wait until the last evening of the conference on Wednesday, September 16 to experience the Holy Spirit’s filling!

Begin expecting victory now. NOW!

Expect God to move in your family. Expect victory over something you've battled too long. Expect God to restore what has been broken. Expect Him to awaken dreams you've allowed circumstances to bury. Expect your children and grandchildren to experience more of God. Expect more from your church. Expect the Holy Spirit to move with power. And when we gather together, don't simply attend another conference - come expecting to receive something from God.

In Acts 3, the man at the Beautiful Gate looked toward Peter and John, “expecting to receive something from them.” He didn't yet know what was coming. He expected alms, but God had a miracle waiting. His expectation was smaller than God's provision.

Maybe that's where you are. You know you need something, but you don't yet know everything God intends to do.

That's all right. You don't have to understand everything. You do have to trust God. But trust Him with expectation and live in that expectation.

So pray bigger. Believe bigger. Dream bigger. Invite somebody who needs victory to come with you. And if you've been undecided about attending, perhaps this is your moment to decide that you're going to put yourself in an atmosphere of faith, prayer, unity, and expectation.

Jesus has already conquered it all. Praise Him! But trust Him in expectation from that victory that His overflow is coming...for you!

Expect God to move.

Expect God to do more.

Expect the Holy Spirit to work.

Expect VICTORY!
