How to Find A Relationship With God

At one time or another, we’ve all wanted a lot in life that would be considered beyond our means. We’ve all dreamed for something we didn’t have. Have you ever thought, “What if I had been born into a wealthy family, maybe the royal family? What if my father was the king? What if I was actually royalty just waiting to be discovered?”

There’s more truth to that than you know.

You see, there is a God in Heaven Who is the Maker of all creation. He is the Lord of all, and the King of Glory. HE is the royalty to Who all other royalties and dynasties bow…

Here’s the good news… He wants to adopt YOU! However, that adoption comes with a very simple question that must be answered. Suppose you were standing before God and He asked you, “Why should I let you into my family? Why should I allow you into Heaven?”

What would you say?

The first step in entering God’s family is to admit you need Him. The Bible says that “all have sinned” (Romans 3:23), and that “the price of sin is death” (Romans 6:23). In other words, we have all messed up, and we are all deserving of death. However, the Bible also says that “while we were still sinners, Christ died for us” (Roman 5:8). Jesus knew you before you were born, knew your mistakes before you made them, and loved you anyway.

Once you realize you have messed up and need a new start, you’re halfway there! In Romans 10:9, it says, “If you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” It is that confession and declaration that is the basis and beginning of a new life. Imagine your heart has a door on it, and Jesus is standing on the outside. He won’t force His way in. He’s not going to beat the door down. He is simply standing outside, waiting for you to open the door and invite Him in. All you have to do is ask.

So… will you?

Dear Lord Jesus,

I know I have messed up and sinned. Thank you for dying on the cross for my sins. Thank you for having mercy on me, and paying the price so I can be free. I know you are alive and hear my prayer. Please come into my life, save me, and make me a part of your family. Lord Jesus, please live in me, fill me with your Spirit, and help me to live for you for the rest of my days. Thank you for saving me, Jesus. Amen.
